Carry the Message Workshop

Presented by Region 1, Region 2, Region 3, Region 6 and the Virtual Region of Overeaters Anonymous

(same workshop offered twice)

The workshop has three components, and each can stand alone. Registration (below) is required for Part 3, since this will involve observing actual processes on the Virtual Region’s social media account.

Part 1
The Basics: Why and How to Carry the Message

Encourage program fellows who do not understand how we carry the message to attend Part 1. (45 minutes)

Part 2
The Underpinnings: Support Elements

Practical examples for effective digital outreach campaigns for public information and professional outreach, including how to use the digital version of When to Refer Someone to OA. Focus will be on support structures needed prior to campaigns, ensuring adequate preparation in welcoming newcomers and professionals, and offering the support needed to help them determine if OA may benefit them, their patients, or their clients. (1 hour)

Part 3
Hands-On: Design and Place Social Media Ads

Registration is required for Part 3. How-to instruction and practice aimed at service bodies with all, or nearly all, the pieces in place who want to run social media ads. This part will walk through the actual designing, targeting, timing, payment, and placing of ads. (1 hour)

Spread the word

Spread the word to anyone in your meetings, Intergroup, or Region, who may be interested. These techniques apply to virtual, hybrid, and in-person settings, so all are welcome to help Carry the Message!
